No.SOR(LG)1-11/2019.- In exercise of the powers conferred under section 71 of the Punjab Local Government Act 2022 (XXXIII of 2022) read with section 20 of the Punjab General Clauses Act, 1956 (VI of 1956), Governor of the Punjab is pleased to hold in abeyance the Notification No. SOR(LG)1-11/2019, dated 17.01.2023, till assumption of office by an elected Provincial Government.

ORDER
No.SOR(LG)1-12/2023. Consequent to Notification No.SOR(LG) 1-11/2019 published in Punjab Gazette on 17.01.2023 and in exercise of powers conferred under Section 3(4) of Punjab Local Government Act, 2022 (XXXIII of 2022), the following local governments constituted under the Act ibid are hereby notified for succession and discharge of liabilities:

2. The Administrators shall perform such functions and exercise powers and authority of the respective local government till the assumption of office by the elected officials under the Act ibid, for uninterrupted service delivery to the general public as envisaged under the new local government system.
3. The offices/officials of defunct Union Councils and defunct Municipal Committees established under Punjab Local Government Act, 2013 performing the functions relating to registration of Death, Birth, Marriage and Divorce and Muslim Family Laws Ordinance, 1961 shall continue to perform these functions under section 205 of the Act ibid, till establishment of Union Councils under the Act ibid,.

CORRIGENDUM
No.SOR(LG)1-16/2022. This is in partial modification of notification of even number dated 18.11.2022 issued in compliance to the directions of Election Commission of Pakistan and in the light of Section 13 read with First Schedule of the Punjab Local Government Act, 2022 (PLGA-2022).
2. The total population of local area of District Council Okara notified under Section 8 of PLGA, 2022 on 25.11.2022 by Deputy Commissioner, Okara is 2,972,871.
