Subject: FEE FOR REGISTRATION OF BIRTHS, DEATHS, MARRIAGES AND DIVORCES AT UNION COUNCIL LEVEL #

The undersigned is directed to refer to the subject and to state that it has been noticed with deep concern that the general public is facing problems regarding registration of births, deaths, marriages and divorces and certification thereof. Complaints are being received that many places, concerned officials are charring illegal dues for issuance of birth, death, marriage and divorce certificates.

2. As per existing instruction, there is no fee for entry/registration of death & birth and copy thereof is to be issued free of cost. However, prescribed fee may be charged for subsequent copies.
3. In view of the above, you are directed to look into the matter personally and issue directions to all Secretaries of Union Councils within your jurisdiction to ensure that only the notified amount of fee is to be charged for the registration / issuance of certificates of births, deaths, marriages and divorces.
4. Any complaint received in this regard will be viewed seriously and stern action shall be initiated against the delinquents.
