NOTIFICATION
No.SOR(LG)38-13/2016. In exercise of the powers conferred under section 144 of the Punjab Local Government Act 2013 (XVIII of 2013) and after previous publication, Governor of the Punjab is pleased to direct that in the Punjab Union Councils (Conduct of Business) Rules 2017, the following amendments shall be made:
Amendments
In the Punjab Union Councils (Conduct of Business) Rules 2017:
- for rule 4, the following shall be substituted:
“4. Organization of a Union Council.
A Union Council shall be provided the services of a Secretary of the Union Council (BS-11) and a Naib Qasid/Chowkidar (BS-1).”; and
(b) for rule 5, the following shall be substituted:
“5. Responsibilities of Secretary Union Council.-
The Secretary of the Union Council shall be responsible for:
(a) maintenance of the accounts of the Union Council, preparation of estimates of receipt and expenditure for the annual budget of the Union Council and community mobilization;
(b) municipal services provided by the Union Council;
(c) the work relating to the meeting of the House and other committees of the Union Council; and
(d) performing such other functions as the Chairman or the Union Council may assign.”.
